TikTok profile pictures: what actually works
TikTok keeps its avatars behind signed, expiring addresses, with no public lookup by username. So the box above will tell you no — and here's what to do instead.
Why the box won't help here
TikTok doesn't publish a way to look up “username → photo”. The avatar's address is signed and expires, and it's handed out only inside TikTok's own app and site. A tool like this one — running openly in your browser, with no account anywhere — has nothing to grab onto.
What sizes even exist
| Size | Where it comes from |
|---|---|
| 720×720 | What the desktop web usually carries. Reachable by hand, not by lookup. |
| 1080×1080 | The 'larger' avatar many accounts have inside the app. No public address. |
| Original | Only in the owner's camera roll. |
The manual way
- Open tiktok.com/@username on a computer (not the app).
- Right-click the profile photo → Open image in new tab. On most accounts this shows the photo on its own, usually at 720×720 — save it from there.
- TikTok reshuffles how its pages load often; if the right-click gives you nothing, a screenshot of the profile, cropped square, is the fallback.
Checked October 2026. If TikTok changes the page again, step 2 is the first thing that breaks.
Straight answers
- Why do TikTok downloaders work for videos but not avatars?
- Video files travel with public share data attached. The avatar lives in TikTok's account system, whose addresses are signed per session — a different, much more locked drawer.
- A site asked me to log in with TikTok. Safe?
- No. That's handing a stranger your account session. Close the tab.
- I need a creator's photo for a brand deal post.
- Ask the creator or their manager for a press photo. It's what professionals do anyway — and it arrives bigger and with permission, which a scraped avatar never has.
