About GuardaFoto
GuardaFoto does one small thing: you paste a link, it hands you the photo — a profile picture, an album cover, a video thumbnail — in the sizes the platform really publishes.
It's run by one person, Alex, from the same small server that hosts a couple of Spanish-language music and news sites he looks after. There's no company behind it, no team page full of stock photos, and no investors to feed. That's also why it can stay free: the lookups happen in your browser, so the running costs are a domain renewal and a corner of a server that was already switched on.
The stubborn honesty on some pages is deliberate. This corner of the internet is full of tools that promise Instagram photos and deliver a password form. We'd rather say “this one can't be done — here's the manual way” and have you come back for the ones that do work.
Corrections, ideas, a platform we should look at: write through the contact page. A real person reads it — the same one who wrote this.
